Methodology

We route to official boards because contractor licensing is fragmented.

One state may license general contractors statewide; another may license only certain trades; another may leave much of the process to cities and counties. We avoid pretending one national contractor database exists.

Confidence labels

High means a direct official state lookup is listed. Medium means the source is official, but the user may need trade-specific or local verification as a second step.
